TMB Day 3!

TMB Day 3!

Written by Evan Noronha on 7/5/2025

We started the day in Auberge Du Truc and the sunrise was as excellent as expected. A standard breakfast of bread, jam, and fresh cows milk was shared with our new friend Jack. It seems that every Seattleite had the same idea to as us, as Jack lives in Greenlake about 10 minutes from Evan's house and we also ran into several other neighbors that day. Together, we watched the montgolfières take off over Mont Joly across the valley. Once it was time, we tumbled down the hill to Les Contamines. We window shopped, complained about the prices, made tinned fish sandwiches at the bus stop, and used the climbing wall at the children's park in town. We eventually meandered our way to Gite le Pontet, which had strange summer camp vibes (think pony rides, soccer games, and ziplines). We dealt with some confusion over fly larvae that we thought were bed bugs, then (Evan) had the most protein-heavy dinner of the trip: chicken curry and rice. We slept surprisingly well in a cute two person cabine and listened to the rain all night.
